Australian media group APN Media has announced a record interim profit for the first six months of the year of 73.2 million Australian dollars (€45.10 million).
The figure represents an increase of 5 per cent on last year's net profits, while the dividend of 1.5 Australian cents per share is up 8 per cent on last year.
Independent News and Media has a 38.5 per cent stake in APN.
The company said it was investing heavily in developing its online division and that although conditions in New Zealand were subdued, new colour gloss property sections in its publications had boosted real estate advertising, while employment advertising saw double-digit growth.
