Mr Mairtin O Muilleoir is the managing editor and co-owner of the Irish-language newspaper, La with Mr Basil McLaughlin and Mr Sean Mac Sheain. Mr Eoghan O'Neill is the editor.
In an article in the editions of The Irish Times dated July 16th, 1999, about La, references were made which may have been perceived as casting doubt on the reputation, character or integrity of the above people.
We wish to make it clear that this was not our intention. The Irish Times regrets and apologises for any hurt or embarrassment the article may have caused them.
