A second young man has disappeared after a night out in Dublin city centre, and gardai are again appealing for the public's assistance in tracing him. Detectives investigating the disappearance of Mr Paul McQuaid (25) last night still had found no trace of his movements since he left a disco at Judge Roy Bean's in Nassau Street at the weekend.

No progress has been made either in the search for Mr Trevor Deely (22) from Naas, Co Kildare, who went missing on the night of December 8th9th last. Yesterday, detectives admitted to being still mystified by Mr Deely's disappearance and are concerned at aspects of this latest incident.

Mr McQuaid, from Fermanagh but living in Dublin, was out with two friends on Friday night and decided to go home at around midnight as he was due in work at the ESB head office the following morning. Earlier in the evening he had collected £60 from an ATM. His bank account has not been touched since.

He was due to travel home to Fermanagh on Sunday for a GAA match. When he did not appear, and then failed to turn up for work on Monday, relatives went to the house he shared with other young people in Fairview.

They found he had already half-packed a sports bag for the match in Fermanagh.

He is described as 6 feet tall with a fair complexion, short black hair and blue eyes. When he left the disco he was wearing a navy blue bomber jacket, a green jumper and navy jeans.

He is a computer graduate and has been working in the IT department at the ESB head office. Colleagues describe him as highly personable and have been shocked by the news of his disappearance.

Anyone who knows anything about his disappearance is asked to contact gardai at Clontarf station.

Comparisons are already being made with the case of Trevor Deely, featured on posters throughout the city, who was last sighted when captured on a closed-circuit television camera at Baggot Street Bridge at 4.14 a.m. on December 9th as he walked home from his office Christmas party.
