An appeal by Stephen "Rossi" Walsh against his conviction and sentence in relation to the arson of a pub in Dublin six years ago was yesterday dismissed by the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Walsh (49), of Sandymount Castle Park, Dublin, was jailed for 15 years after he was found guilty at the Special Criminal Court in 1993 of the arson of Collins's pub on Ballybough Road, Dublin, on September 12th, 1992, and related offences.

The court rejected all grounds of appeal submitted by Walsh and confirmed his sentences of 15 years for arson.

It also confirmed concurrent sentences of 10 years each for criminal damage and entering as a trespasser with intent to cause unlawful damage.
