Gardaí are appealing for information after a sum of cash was stolen during an armed robbery at College Green this morning.
Two men, armed with firearms, entered the Bank of Ireland building at around 11.40am and got away with a sum of cash.
They made off on foot towards Temple Bar, where they hijacked a taxi and drove down the quays in the direction of Heuston Station.
No shots were fired and no one was injured in the robbery.
A description of the two men was issued by gardai this evening.
One of the men is described as being in his late 20's to early 30's, between 177.8cm (5ft 10) and 182.88cm (6ft) in height. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a hood, dark scarf over his face and carried a small black handgun. He spoke with a Dublin accent.
The second man is described as being in his mid 40's, 170cm (5ft 7) to 172.72 (5ft 8) in height and of thin build. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark hat and scarf and in possession of a shotgun. He also spoke with a Dublin accent.
