Two relief agencies have launched appeals to aid 500,000 people in southern Sudan who are threatened by famine. GOAL is sending 25 tons of food supplies and medicines to alleviate the suffering while World Vision Ireland is distributing 13,000 survival kits to 78,000 people in the Bahr el Gazal Lakes region.
