The Catholic Press Office confirmed last night that the Primate of All Ireland, Archbishop Sean Brady, was detained overnight in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth. Dr Brady was taken to hospital when he felt faint following confirmations in St Bridget's Church, Dunleer, Co Louth.
He was outside the church with families of the confirmed when he began to feel unwell. The Catholic Press Office said Dr Brady was taken to the nearby hospital as a precautionary measure. His condition was assessed there and he was admitted.
