London - Lord Archer's play, The Accused, is to close its West End run early due to poor ticket sales, it was announced yesterday.
The production, which opened at the Theatre Royal a fortnight ago, was due to run until March. But poor audience figures have forced the producers to close the play on January 20th.
Lord Archer (60), the former deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, is due to appear before the Old Bailey next year on charges of perjury and perverting the course of justice.
