Ardagh, Co Longford, which has been a three-times winner of the National Tidy Towns Competition, will host a Tidy Towns Conference and Open Day this weekend, reports Sean MacConnell.
The local Tidy Towns Committee, in association with Longford County Council, will feature a trade show and exhibition.
There will be displays on gardening, street furniture, lighting, traditional construction schemes, crafts and environmental services.
There will also be information and advice available, and the demonstrations will cover such areas as thatching, dry stone wall building and stone sculpture.

The official opening will be performed this Saturday by Mr Dan Wallace, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government.
