A Catholic family in Armagh are defying loyalist gangs trying to force them to leave their home, the High Court in Belfast heard yesterday.

In the latest attack on Wednesday night a petrol bomb was hurled at the livingroom window of the house at Ardmore Crescent, said a prosecution lawyer. "Fortunately for the family - a mother and her three children - the petrol bomb bounced off a wall and landed in a skip where it ignited," he said.

The lawyer was opposing a bail application by Mr Gareth Chambers (18), of Alexander Avenue, and Ms Christine Lockhart (17), of Gough Avenue, both in Armagh, who denied throwing a petrol bomb.
