TWO BROTHERS of a Co Armagh man missing in Australia have flown out to Melbourne to join in the search.

Stephen King (28) from Keady, was last seen last Saturday week when he left a group of friends at an Irish pub in the Southbank area of Melbourne.

He had arrived in Australia a few weeks earlier for a year-long working holiday. Mr King’s friends believed that he was going to a casino when he left PJ O’Brien’s pub at about 3.10am on July 19th.

The alarm was raised the following day when he failed to meet friends as expected.

They had arranged to meet to watch a GAA match in a local pub.

The missing man had been staying with his friend, Joe McQuade, in St Kilda. He did not have his passport or other belongings with him when he disappeared. Mr McQuade and a large group of ex-pats and friends have put up more than 2,000 posters around the city in a bid to find him.

More than 30 people have been involved in the search but the search is expected to intensify when his brothers arrive.

A spokeswoman for Victoria police said there had been no breakthroughs yet, but the investigations continued. She said police were aware that relatives were on their way and they were considering holding a press conference after they had made contact with Mr King’s brothers.

The spokeswoman said that the investigation was concentrating on the central business district as this was where he was last spotted.
