Armed robbers raid shop in Co Antrim

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an armed robbery on a Mace shop in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an armed robbery on a Mace shop in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

Two men, thought to be aged between 25 and 30, held up staff with handguns at the shop on Moss Road and escaped with cash. The robbery occurred at about 7.45 p.m. yesterday.

In a separate incident, police in Co Down are appealing for information about a burglary at a powertool distributor business.

The theft took place between 6 p.m. on Monday and 5 p.m. yesterday at Mercol Limited on the Portaferry Road, Newtownards. Tools worth thousands of pounds - including commercial heaters, strimmers and chainsaws - were stolen.
