A fast food restaurant manager had a gun held against her head today as two masked men staged an armed robbery in Co Antrim.

The woman was forced to empty the safe of KFC on the Belfast Road, Carrickfergus after she answered a knock at the back door.

The suspects bundled a substantial sum of cash into a black binbag before escaping. Police appealed for anyone with any information about the raid, which happened around 9.30am, to come forward.

A PSNI spokeswoman described one of the men as 5ft 6in and of medium build. He was wearing a cream bomber jacket and dark jeans.

His accomplice is 6ft, of slim build and was wearing jeans. Both men were wearing black balaclavas and matching gloves
