Army bomb experts have defused an improvised explosive outside a private home in Dublin.
The Defence Forces described the device discovered in Killinarden, Tallaght, as viable.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were called to the scene last night at around 8.25pm. The explosive device was found near a vehicle outside the house. No controlled explosion was carried out.
The explosive was removed to a secure military installation for technical examination, the Defence Forces said. It was then handed over to gardaí.
