ARMY BOMB disposal experts were called in to make safe a viable pipe bomb that had been left under a car of a businessman outside his home in Dublin 4 in the early hours of yesterday.

A Garda investigation has begun and the remnants of the device are being analysed.

Detectives are trying to establish if there are any events in the victim’s business or personal dealings that would lead to him to being targeted by criminals.

There is no suggestion whatever of any wrongdoing on the victim’s part.
