Police have not disclosed details of the man being questioned this morning about the murder of Mr Paul Daly (38), who sustained ten wounds after a drive-by shooting in Stephen Street, Belfast.

The Catholic father of four from Laurelgrove Dale in Knockbracken was in a car with his partner and 12-year-old daughter when he was killed. The others were not hurt.

Mr Daly's family have denied the murder was connected to IRA-organised drug dealing.

In another case, two women and a man arrested yesterday about the murder of Mr David Barnes in north Belfast last month have been released on police bail while further inquiries are made.

Mr Barnes (39) was shot on May 8th as he lay sleeping in bed with his girlfriend at Brookvale Avenue.

Detectives have also renewed their appeal for information about another murder on the outskirts of Belfast on the first anniversary of the killing.

Mr Robert Letson (45) died in hospital on May 11th last year, a few hours after being assaulted in his home at Ardmillan Drive in Rathcoole by three men.
