The Arrows Formula One team will compete at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix after boss Tom Walkinshaw agreed to sell the team to an unnamed American investor.

Arrows missed the Hungarian Grand Prix two weeks ago as talks continued to save the cash-strapped team.

Walkinshaw's outfit had been expected to miss the trip to Spa-Francorchamps as well but an agreement today has allowed the team's transporters to leave for Belgium, with the deal expected to be tied up later this week.

A team statement read: "Arrows Grand Prix International announced today that the team has been sent to Spa.

"Heads of Agreement have been signed regarding the purchase of the team by an American investor. We hope for the deal to be completed by Friday."

It is still unclear who will drive for Arrows at Spa. German Heinz-Harald Frentzen quit before the Hungarian race and as yet no driver has been named as team-mate to Enrique Bernoldi.

Former driver Jos Verstappen recently insisted he has no interest in a temporary seat although Fernando Alonso - who will race for Renault next season - and Formula 3000 front-runner Sebastien Bourdais have both been linked.
