This year's EV+A, which opens today at 10 venues in Limerick, is billed as EV+A Reduced, presumably to distinguish it from last year's blockbuster. The difference is that every second year, apart from a show selected from open submission, there is also an Invited Artists' category, and this year's EV+A is purely open submission. American art historian and curator, Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn was, the adjudicator and, despite the tag, she has come up with what looks like a pretty substantial show. Michael Canning, Abigail O'Brien, Susan MacWilliam, Fergus Martin, Diana Copperwhite (above) and Oliver Comerford are among those whose work she's included. This year, as well, the expanded and revamped City Art Gallery takes centre stage as a venue.
