Limerick School of Art students placed a picket on the college yesterday claiming there was a lack of staff.

The 580 students also picketed a meeting of the governing body of Limerick RTC at Moylish.

The students want the immediate appointment of a full time technician for the school and the allocation of 42 extra part time craft assistant hours for the school for safety reasons. There are currently eight part time craft assistants attached to the college.

Mr Keith Massey, president of the students union, claimed they were promised last November that a full time technician would be appointed.
