Racing: Officials at Ascot have announced an 8am precautionary inspection ahead of their high-profile meeting tomorrow.
Racing took place at the Berkshire circuit on Friday but with some snow and freezing temperatures forecast, clerk of the course Chris Stickels feels it prudent to take a look on Saturday morning.
The fixture features the Grade One Lough Derg Long Walk Hurdle and a fiercely competitive renewal of The Ladbroke.
Stickels said on Friday afternoon: "We're forecast a few snow showers tonight and temperatures could get down to minus 1C.
"If that forecast is correct, we shouldn't really have any problems as it's due to be warm enough tomorrow for that snow to melt away.
"But if we end up getting more snow or it is colder than forecast, it could present a problem, so we're holding a precautionary inspection and we'll see where we are."
