Hanoi - At least 14 people were drowned, most of them women and children, and two others were missing, after a fishing boat returning from a religious ceremony capsized in high winds in southern Vietnam.
The boat sank in Tan Thanh district of Ba Ria Vung Tau province, east of Ho Chi Minh City, on Thursday afternoon, a local police officer said. Another officer, chief of Hoi Bai commune police station in Tan Thanh district, said at least 23 people survived the accident in the mouth of the Thi Vai river.
