Six people were killed in fighting between rival political supporters in Togo's capital on Saturday, a human rights group close to the ruling party said today, just a week before presidential polls are to be held.
"Sadly six supporters of the ruling party were killed," said Claude Vondoly, secretary general of the Togolese Movement for the Defense of Liberties and of Human Rights (MTDLDH). He said around 100 ruling party supporters were injured in the fighting.
