A man (27) is in a serious condition after he was assaulted in Cork city overnight.
The Garda said he was attacked by two men in their early twenties in Sober Lane on Sullivan’s Quay at 1.48 a.m.
One of the attackers was described as short with dark hair, wearing a cream jacket and cream trousers. The other man was taller with dark hair and dark clothing. Both men had local accents.
The injured man was rushed to Cork University Hospital. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
