A new legal computer package containing a dictionary of Irish law and a collection of Irish statutes was launched today by the Attorney General, Mr Michael McDowell.
Murdoch’s Irish Legal Companion is a comprehensive legal database containing references to judicial decisions with over 650,000 links to relevant websites.
The Companion will also cover areas where changes in Irish law have occurred such as the Euro, e-commerce, planning and development and the Belfast Agreement.
Speaking at the launch, the Attorney General described the product as a "hugely impressive legal research resource."
He believed that it would prove to be "invaluable to judges, practitioners, students, libraries, the public service and enterprise."
The programme will be available on CD-ROM and by subscription to the internet.
