Attorney General Máire Whelan SC, High Court judge Mr Justice Gerard Hogan and historian Diarmaid Ferriter will be among the speakers at the Burren Law School which opens tomorrow and continues until Sunday. “Commemorating the Past; Constituting the Future” is the theme of the school in Ballyvaughan, Co Clare.

The Attorney General will launch the school and author, director and broadcaster Gerry Stembridge will bring the artist’s view of the topic to the school.

On Saturday Mr Justice Hogan and Minister of State Lucinda Creighton will speak about the Constitution and sovereignty and the fiscal treaty respectively. On Sunday Prof Ferriter, Dr Laura Cahillane from UCC and Catriona Crowe of the National Archives of Ireland will address the topic, “Commemorating our Past – What’s Worth Preserving?” Tickets available from angelene@burrencollege.ie
