New Zealand club Auckland Kingz said today that former England international Paul Gascoigne will not be joining them.
Gascoigne was linked with Kingz following his release from Burnley at the end of last season.
Kingz chief executive Chris Turner told Sky Sportstoday: "We got approached by a third party around two months ago asking us whether we would be interested in a superstar playing for us. Discussions took place but they never really got off the ground".
When asked if Gascoigne would be joining Auckland, who play in the Australian premier league, Turner replied: "The answer to that question is no - Paul Gascoigne will not be joining us or coming over here".
