Racing:Peter Chapple-Hyam has confirmed Vodafone Derby winner Authorized will not run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 28th.

Speculation was rife the Montjeu colt was a doubt for the mid-season showpiece, having lost his place at the head of the market to Dylan Thomas.

Authorized will miss the King George in preference to an autumn campaign.

Chapple-Hyam indicated the Irish Champion Stakes is likely to be the three-year-old's next target before a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 7th.

"I am happy with him as he seems in very good form, although he is entitled to feel slightly tired after three hard races so far this season," said the St Gatien handler.

"With that in mind, he will probably benefit from a bit of a break. He has looked after me this year, now I've got to look after him.

"Regarding the rest of his campaign, we will build him up with the Arc as his main target. But he will probably run before that in the Irish Champion Stakes.

"If he doesn't head to Ireland for that race, we could go for the Juddmonte," he told www.peterchapplehyam.com.
