Autumn's designs on Dublin fashions

As the week turns cold, the autumn/winter look is almost back centre-stage. Coats, bags, boots, fur, collars, skirts, suits.

As the week turns cold, the autumn/winter look is almost back centre-stage. Coats, bags, boots, fur, collars, skirts, suits . . . generally, clothes. John Rocha was all set to launch his new creations in the Round Room of the Mansion House on Thursday night. He and 17 other designers were preparing for their presentation by Wella Design Centre.

Appetites had been whetted at the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre the night before with the launch by Danos of designs by Mariella Burani. "Gorgeous," says Rita Redmond, of the Irish Wedding Journal. "Absolutely beautiful," says Anne-Marie Gannon, former Miss Ireland, who left her daughter of five months, Amy Coughlan, at home with Vincent Coughlan. Fashion is all ahead of Amy. Linda Woolfson and her friend, Emma Martin, of the Miss E boutique, are equally impressed. Marios Photiades from Nicosia in Cyprus and his business partner, Cork man Owen Madden, have now brought the Danos look to Dublin. Of course, Cork women have had Danos for five years. Up to the minute, they are in Cork.
