A MASTERS student at Oxford University, Ms Liz Smith, was yesterday presented with the Larkin Prize for excellence in art and design education by the National Council for Educational Awards.
Ms Smith, from Kilbarrack, north Dublin, is a graduate of the National College of Art and Design and a former teacher at Greendale Community School.
The award commemorates the late Dermot Larkin, an art teacher and board member of the NCEA, the national authority for validating courses in the extra-university third level sector.
