Liverpool defender Markus Babbel wants a return to first-team action before the season's end.
Babble, sidelined with a muscle-numbing condition since August last year, said: "I would love to play for five minutes at the end of our last game of the season against Ipswich.
"I have asked the boss to bring me on at the end if we are a few goals up and the match is won," he told the club's website, Liverpoolfc.tv on Monday
The Germany international is back in light training having recovered from Guillan-Barre Syndrome, which attacks the immune system and causes inflammation of the nerves.
