The adverse weather conditions have claimed a number of sporting fixtures around the country.
The Connacht SFC quarter-final between Galway and Sligo at Pearse Stadium is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The game is rescheduled for next Saturday.
Remaining GAA championship matches go-ahead as planned although many pitches are in a less than ideal condition.
In soccer, the eircom League Premier Division game between Bray Wanderers and Sligo Rovers is off due to a waterlogged pitch as is the First Division match between Shamrock Rovers and Athlone Town.
Play at the Nissan Irish Open golf at Carton house is suspended due to on-course waterlogging. Officials will make a progress announcement at 4pm.
This afternoon's race meeting at Navan will go ahead after the course passed a morning inspection. The going at the track is currently soft to heavy but course officials have decided that it is raceable.
Gowran Park's meeting on Sunday has been cancelled due to a waterlogged track. Course officials staged an inspection at 8am but found the track to be unraceable. The meeting still may be rescheduled.
Kilbeggan's meeting on Monday has been cancelled due to a waterlogged track.
