AN 18-year-old man has been remanded on stringent bail conditions while undergoing treatment in Britain, after being charged with 18 sexual assaults on eight young children over an 11-month period.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the children in Co Cork between June 1999 and April 2000, Judge James O'Connor was told yesterday at Bandon District Court.
The West Cork State Solicitor, Mr Malachy Boohig, applied to have the case adjourned to Bandon District Court on September 17th, 2002, with the consent of the Southern Health Board and the man's solicitor, Ms Letitia Baker.
Judge O'Connor said the State was at liberty to apply to the court if any matter arose in the case.
