A man charged in connection with the killing last April of a bouncer, Mr Patrick Neville, was released on bail yesterday.

Mr Kevin McLoughlin (38), originally from Belfast, but living at St Theresa's Gardens, Dublin, is charged with gathering information for an illegal organisation about the movements and identity of Mr Neville (31), who was found shot dead at St Michael's Estate, Inchicore, on April 29th.

When Mr McLoughlin was first charged last week, he was remanded in custody with consent to his own bail of £600 and an independent surety of £3,000. Yesterday in Dublin District Court Ms Jessica Stokes, a former colleague at a sports shop where he worked as a security man, put up the £3,000 bail.

Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick remanded Mr McLaughlin on bail to Kilmainham District Court on September 14th.
