The Tanaiste, Ms Harney, is expected to announce the establishment of a National Auto Turning Training centre for Ballina. Ms Harney set up the North Mayo Enterprise Initiative following the announcement that the Japanese Asahi plant was closing with the loss of more than 300 jobs. The US computer company, Lionbridge Technologies Inc., is to create 100 jobs in the town.
