A campaign for a community law centre in Ballymun was launched in the Bar Council building in Dublin yesterday, writes Carol Coulter, Legal Affairs Correspondent.
An action plan for such a centre, based on the views of 20 voluntary and community groups along with statutory services operating out of Ballymun, was drawn up by Mr Dave Ellis of Community Legal Resource.
According to the plan, there is a large need for legal services in Ballymun, both of an individual case work nature, and as a resource to community organisations. The areas identified include family law, housing, employment rights, social welfare, equality issues and debt.
