Kamal El Habsati, a 31 year old Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent, was found inside his home at Linnbhla Apartments in Ballymun, Co Dublin, on December 5th.

A full murder investigation is underway and gardai area appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The alarm was raised at 4pm after a call to the emergency services by the landlord of the complex in Ballymun after he could not gain access to his property.

On arrival at the scene, gardai forced entry and discovered the body of a man with knife wounds.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity at the complex between Friday November 30th and Wednesday December 5th to come forward.

Supt David Taylor said gardaí "have a particular interest" in those two dates in terms of "activity at that apartment".

The investigation is being led by Supt Paul Moran of Ballymun garda station and there are approximately 20 officers involved.
