Bank of Scotland Ireland (BOSI) today announced it plans to open a customer services centre in Dundalk, Co Louth, with the creation of up to 300 jobs.

The bank said it will begin recruiting immediately and will open the site in November.

The services centre will cater for the bank's growing retail business - spurred on by the proposed acquisition of the ESB's ShopElectric premises and the establishment of a retail network.

BOSI chief executive Mark Duffy said: "This centre together with our retail distribution will provide customers with a new banking experience."
