The inquest into the death of an English banking executive who died after a brawl in a Dublin hotel was adjourned yesterday pending criminal proceedings.

Mr Francis Tomlinson (42), from Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, died as a result of head injuries he received during a fight in Jurys Custom House Inn in the Custom House docks area. He had been in Dublin with a stag party.

Insp Oliver Hanley from Store Street Garda Station told the court that directions had been received to prosecute two people in relation to Mr Tomlinson's death. He said a trial would proceed.

The City Coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, adjourned the hearing until criminal proceedings have been concluded.
