The Barron report on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings in 1974 will be published next Wednesday.

The Barron report on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings in 1974 will be published next Wednesday.

A Government spokeswoman confirmed that there would be minimal alterations to the report. Such changes are likely to take the form of names deleted in order to protect the rights of some of those mentioned.

The long-delayed report examines the adequacy of the Garda investigation into the bombings on May 17th, 1974, and persistent allegations that members of the British security forces colluded with UVF members who plotted the attacks.

The Government postponed moving a Dáil motion this week to pass the report to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights for immediate publication.
