David Beckham took a swipe at his Old Trafford bosses today after admitting his transfer could have been handled "a little bit differently."
Speaking to reporters during his promotional tour of the Far East, Beckham revealed "things went on" that he was unhappy with during recent weeks.
His comments could refuel rumours that Beckham's relationship with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had become too strained.
The pair appeared to have settled any differences when both paid tribute to one another on Tuesday as Beckham's £25 million sterling transfer to Real Madrid was announced.
But when asked about events of recent weeks, when speculation surrounding his future was rife, the midfielder admitted: "I think things went on that obviously I wouldn't be happy about.
"I think, of course, it could have been done a little bit differently, but I don't want to talk about that side of it because I'm a Real Madrid player now and I'm looking forward to it".
Beckham was speaking in Tokyo just days after his move to the Spanish giants was finally confirmed.
Beckham was understood to have been angry that United had made a deal with Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta, who went on to win the club election on Sunday.
The footballer's representatives said their star was not interested in the move and would not speak to the club. Days later Beckham's move to Barca's arch rivals, Real, was announced.
