Beilin to run as Labour leader

TEL AVIV - A former Israeli cabinet minister, Mr Yossi Beilin, a proponent of a Palestinian state, announced his candidacy yesterday to succeed Mr Shimon Peres as leader of the main opposition Labour party in internal elections in June.
