A West Belfast man was placed on the sex offenders' register for life yesterday after being sentenced in Belfast Crown Court to 4 1/2 years in jail for indecent assault. The court was told that on September 14th last year Brian Maguire (31) had lured a 13-year-old boy to an isolated spot near Lenadoon on the pretext of being shown the way. He had produced an imitation firearm and sexaully assaulted the boy.
Maguire, of no fixed abode, who had pleaded guilty to indecent assault, false imprisonment and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit indecent assault, was given concurrent 4 1/2-year terms on each charge by Lord Justice MacDermott.
