LONDON - The British government said it would ask parliament to overturn a court decision outlawing cuts it made this year in asylum seekers' rights to welfare benefits.
The Court of Appeal last Friday upheld a claim by an immigrants' support organisation that the Social Services Secretary, Mr Peter Lilley, had exceeded his powers by implementing the changes without first incorporating them into a parliamentary bill.
