AC Milan, Inter and Lazio today booked places in the Champions League next season with wins on the penultimate day of Serie A.

At the foot of the table Piacenza were relegated after Parma came back from two goals down to win 3-2.

Juventus, who wrapped up the title last week, fielded a weakened side and fell 2-1 away to relegation-threatened Reggina.

Third-placed Milan, who will face Juventus in the final of this season's Champions League, beat Bologna 3-1 with goals from Andrea Pirlo (penalty), Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi.

Lazio secured fourth place at least with a 3-1 win over Brescia ending Chievo's hopes of a place in Europe's premier club competition.

Chievo were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Roma but are likely to take a slot in the UEFA Cup.

Along with Juventus, second-placed Inter Milan, who beat Modena 2-0, will complete the four Serie A teams in the Champions League.

Cash-strapped Lazio will be delighted to secure their place, just reward for a season with only three defeats.

The win keeps Reggina's hopes of staying in the top flight alive although they face a tense final week after two goals from Cristiano Doni gave fellow-strugglers Atalanta a 2-1 win over already-relegated Como.
