Woolwich - Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs was moved back to prison yesterday after nearly a week in hospital.

Doctors decided the 71year-old was well enough to go back to his cell after treatment for a suspected stroke. A spokeswoman for the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Woolwich, London, said Biggs had left yesterday morning and had been in a stable condition.

The decision infuriated Biggs's son Michael (26) who said he had been kept in the dark about the move.

Biggs was taken from Belmarsh prison last Saturday after falling ill in his cell.
