Birmingham City's former French international striker Christophe Dugarry has been banned for three matches by the FA after being found guilty of misconduct.

Dugarry caught Blackburn Rovers defender Craig Short with his elbow during an English premier league match last month.

Birmingham's website said the ban starts immediately and he will miss the league games against Chelsea and Newcastle United plus the FA Cup fourth round tie with Wimbledon.

Short suffered a broken nose in the incident, which was not seen by referee Graham Barber. Dugarry was sent off later in the match, which Blackburn won 4-0, for two unrelated yellow cards.

The FA later requested a video of the incident and Dugarry was charged with misconduct.

The 31-year-old would have been doubtful for the fixtures having missed the last six matches with a knee injury. He has not played since the game with Blackburn on December 6th.
