The new Church of Ireland Bishop of Meath and Kildare has warned that a church which exists as a club, whose only concern is to ensure its own survival, is doomed.
Speaking at his enthronement in St Patrick's Cathedral, Trim, last night, Dr Richard Clarke, said that "if the whole Christian church in this land does not learn to take risks with its own future in the name of Jesus Christ, then this may not be the last enthronement of a bishop in this cathedral, but there will not be too many more.
