Tottenham have confirmed they will sign Michael Brown when the transfer window reopens on New Year's Day.
The Premiership club have reached an agreement with Sheffield United and Brown for the player to move to White Hart Lane on January 1st.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who was also attracting the interest of Rangers, was one of several targets on an eight-man hit-list drawn up by Spurs' caretaker boss David Pleat and his assistant Chris Hughton.
Brown, who started his career at Manchester City, has scored 28 goals in 142 league starts for the Blades.
His first match for Tottenham is expected to be the home game against Liverpool on January 17th, with suspension ruling him out of the FA Cup third round clash with Crystal Palace and Premiership clash at Leeds a week later.
