FIFA president Sepp Blatter said today he had nothing to fear from 11 FIFA members who intend suing him for "misuse of funds".

UEFA president Lennart Johansson said yesterday FIFA executive committee members would be taking Blatter to a Swiss court following a report by FIFA general-secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen in which mismanagement by Blatter is alleged.

Blatter has dismissed the claims and accused the committee members of preventing him from seeking re-election at next month’s Congress meeting.

He will be opposed by Issa Hayatou, president of the African Football Confederation (CAF) in the election.

The threat of any charges leave me unperturbed," said Blatter in a statement.

"I find the threat of legal action disappointing but it does not come as a surprise to me. This merely represents the logical consequence of months of relentless and systematic attacks on the FIFA president by my opponents in an attempt to destroy my personal integrity," he said.
