Racing:Godolphin's Blue Bunting landed a shock win in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Frankie Dettori's mount swooped late under the stands' side rail to collar Together and Maqaasid who had been locked together for much of the final furlong.

The well backed favourite Memory was a long way adrift of the field having stood still when the stalls opened whilst Moonlight Cloud's challenge petered out tamely after hitting the front around a furlong from home after Hooray had helped to set a strong pace.

Together and Maqaasid pulled clear of the field in the centre of the track and looked to have the race between them only for Blue Bunting to swoop late with Dettori raising a celebratory hand to the packed stands as he crossed the winning line.

Mahmood Al Zarooni's filly was a relative outsider, opening at 25-1 on course, but was not without support in the ring and was returned a 16-1 chance.

Connections of the winner had always felt that she was more of an Oaks filly and the daughter of Dynaformer is firmly on target for the second fillies Classic of the season.

Boylesports quoted her as the 7-2 favourite, Ladbrokes 5-2 favourite but Sky Bet and Victor Chandler both went 9-2 with the latter cutting her price for the Investec Oaks from 25s.
